Day 15 | Week 3! Amazing Transformations!

Day 15
"Amazing Transformations"

WOD 130415
10 AMRAP
15 Box Jumps

**This workout is all about turning on your jets and keep moving keep moving keep moving. I want you guys to click the links and really get a grasp of the technique for the dumbbell push press and the deadlifts. Suggested weight for women is 45-65lbs and men 95-115lbs for the deadlifts. The Dumbbell push press should be on the athletes preference; again, challenging but safe. Try aiming for 4-6 rounds! Don't forget to stretch!

Week 3! Amazing Transformations!

WOW. We are officially over the halfway mark. The past two weeks for me and my brother have been motivating, challenging, annoying, and frustrating. The two thing keep us disciplined is each other and our want to get to our goals. We are fortune to surround ourselves with the people that will help us get to the goal and keep us accountable (Day 1 Blog!). The following pictures are from people from all over the world and different body types who have transformed themselves from unhealthy to healthy, from sad to sexy, from fat to fab (that's Steven's haha), from IMpossible to I'Mpossible. It's a beautiful thing to read that all of their stories have the 3 basics: mindset to change, eating clean, and exercising. How simple is that?

Even though our 30 days will definitely not get to that ultimate goal of a 20+ weight loss, this is meant to kickstart your mind and your body. The initial push to develop successful habits and wiser decision making. I want you to give props to these people who have made the transformation and see how you're not alone in your journey towards your weight loss and healthy lifestyle. Dont' give up.

#TransformationTuesday was gonna post one of these in like 2months or so but got kinda impatient(I will probably do one then too tho lol) on the Left: that’s during Christmas(the tree’s actually in the background),150 pounds skinniest I’ve been in like 5 years, on the Right: that’s now 180 pounds 8-9% bodyfat. So I guess now I can say I’ve done it all both chubby to fit and now skinny to fit. More than it’s health and physical benefits I did it for more confidence & also for the mental toughness that comes from commitment and discipline and that is beneficial in all other aspects of life. Four motivational quotes that I like to keep in my mind and that keep me going are 1.”Discipline is doing what you know needs to be done, when you don’t want to do it.”, 2.”Train Insane or remain the same.” 3.”Nothing great has ever been achieved without consistency.” And 4… “Do it for the ‘HOLY SHIT YOU GOT HOT!’” lol. This transformation was done in about 3months working out 5-6 days a week sessions anywhere from hour&half to three hours, combined with a healthy diet, and now we heaa :) So after some pointless time away from the gym I’m back to my true love again(working out) this time with more commitment than ever, and just very excited to see where it’ll take me :)

Another transformation pic from me :)
Before doing INSANITY by Beachbody and during INSANITY (lost 12 centimeters from my belly and 3,5 kilograms in a month). I started Insanity since early February. Clean eating and workout everyday. And I gotta tell you, clean eating is really important. I don’t count calories, it’s too burdensome for me. The important thing is that you need to be conscious of whatever you’re eating. I took photos of every meals I had and keep them in my phone, it helps me to decide my next meals by looking at the food I’ve been eating.
If you’re an iPhone user, you can also use #Eatery app. An old app, but it works for me.
Oh, and water is a must.
INSANITY is a really tough workout program for me, I guess it mainly because I haven’t been doing a real workout for about 3-4 years. During Insanity, I was tired as fuck and slacking a lot. But I just didn’t stop. So yeah, you can see that eventho I was slacking quite a lot during the workout, the result will always there because I don’t give up and keep on going. Always think of the result and pushing your mind into it, you can.
My followers maybe know that I used to be depressed. I used to hate the world and I really hated my self. I used to be awake the whole night, and refused to come out from my room during the day. But those days are gone, now. I decided to recover, I committed to live the healthy life I’m supposed to do, and I committed to be a better me, not bitter anymore. I keep on going, and I feel much more happier.
So yeah, this is not a result yet :) (Height 173 cm)

Starting weight: 194 lbs
“During” photo weight: 164 lbs
Current weight: 159.3 lbs
Goal weight: 128 lbs
Height: 5’2”
These photos were taken 30 lbs apart, at almost the halfway point in my weight loss journey. I was at my goal weight when I started college, but somehow I managed to gain 60 lbs in the four years before I graduated. I was complacent with my heavy weight and unhealthy lifestyle for a long time, but something just clicked inside my head this past summer and I decided I’d had enough.
I’ve made a lot of progress on this journey with my weight (I’ve lost 34.7 lbs thus far), but more importantly I’ve adopted a completely new lifestyle - one focused on health, fitness, and lifelong maintenance. I’m using the Weight Watchers plan currently (I lost the first 22 lbs on my own with portion control and exercise), because I’ve had success with it in the past and I feel most comfortable on it. But tracking my food doesn’t even begin to cover the changes I’ve made. I have 31.3 lbs left to lose and some lofty fitness goals to meet!
Please, join me in my journey by following my blog: journeyofcurves :) I’m tracking my weight loss journey in detail and I’m trying to inspire and motivate as I do it! I’m a freelance writer, so along with my daily food trackers and motivational posts, I write some longer posts about various weight and health related topics (some recent posts: Shutting Down Body Shaming, The Horrors of Women’s Sizing, Satisfaction While Socializing). Creating a support system (online or in real life) is crucial to success in this journey and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle, so I hope we can share our journeys and support one another! I hope you enjoy my blog and I look forward to getting to know you! <3

Blog: RonisWeigh.com; Total Pounds Lost: 70
How I Did It: I finally realized that not everything revolved around how I looked in a bathing suit. I stopped seeking some insane vision of skinniness and joined Weight Watchers with the intent of learning how to eat, not reaching a certain size. The small shift in focus made all the difference for me.
How My Blog Helped: I decided to post a weekly update on my blog to report my progress. This small commitment to post the good, bad and ugly was a huge part of my success. It gave me a place to face the emotional side of weight loss: I celebrated my losses, cried about my gains and vented when I felt like whining.
Top Tip: Set non-weight-related goals to build your confidence. Sometimes the scale will not be your friend, so you should set goals that are within your control: Sign up for a 5K, start a food journal or blog and commit to it, ditch the diet soda, have a four-day-a-week walking goal. Declare the goal, reach it and then set another.

Ben Davis, 24, from Little Rock, Arkansas
Blog: BenDoesLife.tumblr.com; Total Pounds Lost: 120
How I Did It: I went from 15 hours a day of computer games to running, running and more running (short distances at first, then building up to miles). I also started applying healthy eating principles that I already knew but didn’t practice. I would walk in the grocery store and head for the fruits, vegetables and whole-grain breads rather than the frozen pizza section. Simple choices like that really put me in the mindset of eating smarter. I switched out Pop-Tarts and cereal for whole-grain English muffins and smoothies. I switched out McDonald’s for sandwiches and soups.
How My Blog Helped: I started the blog after I made a Christmas promise to my grandmother to get a grip on my life. It served as an easy way for her to keep up with me from New England on a day-to-day basis. Over time, I began to accumulate an audience, so it really kept me on track and helped me stay motivated. I didn’t want to let myself down; I didn’t want to let my grandmother down; and I didn’t want to let the Internet people down, either.
Top Tip: No matter what life change you need to make, do it publicly. Obviously you don’t have to start a blog for the world to see, but make sure you’re sharing your struggles with people who care about you. The natural thing for us to do is hide our vices and try to fix them in secret because we’re ashamed. But I’ve found that, more often than not, people are excited for you, and will be there to support you and help you in any way they can.

Amanda, 29, from Troy, New York
Blog: MyNewLife-Manderz.blogspot.com; Total pounds lost: 107
How I Did It: Ditching fast food and becoming active. After I had my daughter, I had takeout almost every night. I had no concept of portion control and often ate until I felt sick. I started to pay attention to portion sizes and weigh everything that I ate. It’s so easy to overestimate a cup of cereal, and if you overestimate 100 calories five times a week, that's an additional 500 calories! Once I lost about 50 pounds, I started running and eating more veggies, proteins and healthy carbs to fuel my body.
How My Blog Helped: I started my blog when I was already down 70 pounds to keep myself accountable. I was at a standstill with my weight loss and thought that recording what I ate as well as my thoughts would help keep me on track. Eventually my blog took a turn toward a running blog. I started to train for my first half-marathon and documented each milestone. I want people to know that if I can go from being 276 pounds to running marathons, they can too!
Top Tip: Add exercise to your life. Not only does exercise burn calories, but it also makes you feel good. There are so many times that I am in a bad mood and I lace up my sneakers anyway to go for a run.

Before 140 After 126 :) eating less and exercising 5x a week! My secret is that I don’t deprive myself of the foods I love, but I eat them in moderation. I give into my strongest cravings, but only eat a small amount. Also, I supplement my diet with fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Losing weight isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. After the first few weeks, you will be loving the way you feel, and there will be no turning back! Stay healthy, you can do it!

height —> 5 ft 4
weight —> before :185 lbs
                now : 158lbs
lost 27 lbs in 3 months time (woohoo~!) Although still got more to go (my target is 128lbs by april 2013), I’ve never felt better! :D
being plus size always makes life a bit more difficult…and people’s words can be very mean @_@
I have always wanted to lose those extra pounds my entire life, after failing so many times, this time it is finally working :)
i think the tip is to cut the portion of your food gradually, and increase your activity level bit by bit… let your body adjust to it…although some people can handle a sudden extreme change (like extreme diet or extreme exercise), but most will give up because your mind can’t justify all the sacrifices you have to make in a sudden. That is what happen to me before, now making slower adjustment actually works a lot better :)
For everybody who is on a diet, KEEP IT UP! It is really worth it to see yourself in a better shape, and most of all, when you are healthy, you experience life even more to the fullest!
I always have a tumblr account but never really use it, but i think nowadays i will start being active with it! And ya, it is gonnabe a fitsblr :P http://onebear-on-the-run.tumblr.com/

I’ve played soccer all my life so my two-a-day work outs always gave me an excuse to go and chow down on a big mac. I never really thought of myself as fat just having a more athletic build. It was easy to hide with clothes but one day i realized how unhealthy i really was. You would never think as girl who works out everyday is unhealthy right? That where I was wrong. I was feeding my body trash. Exercise supplements your diet! You will get nowhere eating junk food even if you are working out. With an improved diet i dropped 20 pound, I’m so much faster and can still leg press 400 pounds (the same amount I could lift when I was heavier). I’m Healthy, strong AND can rock a bikini instead of hiding in sweat pants now! I might lose another 10lbs but right now I’m proud of the body I’ve created and i want to share my progress with everyone so they can see it is possible to lose weight!
